Summary
Chim paused, “Buck and Eddie are together in your universe?”
“Yeah…?” Other Chim looked at him weirdly, as if he was the weird one for being surprised. “Are they not together in your world? Are they somehow even dumber in your universe? How is that possible?”
“No!” Chim laughed. “Why would they be? I know they’re weirdly co-dependent, but Eddie’s straight, and I know that Buck is bi, but it’s a bit harmful to suggest that just because he’s attracted to guys that he would be in love with his best friend.”
“But… It’s Buck and Eddie.” Other Chim protested.
_______
OR: Chimeny is visited by his variant, who introduces him to the world of buddie. Chim, wanting to step up and be the best Captain for the 118 convinces Chris to help him set Buddie up to rectify this travesty.
What ensues is 5 dates that Chris and Chim plan, and 1 date that they didn't have to plan.(The first chapter was an excuse for me to write Chim interacting with another version of himself and only happens in chapter 1)

Summary
The 118 was in the middle of eating breakfast when their first alarm of the shift went off. They all rushed to the trucks, waiting for their briefing from Chimney while driving to the scene.
„There was a bomb in a villa on Windsor. The house should be clear, but we have at least 2 victims trapped in there, one cop and a civilian.“ Chim explained in the engine.
"Were they able to reach the cop?" Buck asked, concerned.
"Not yet, so we have no idea if either of them survived." Chimney answered.
OR
When the 118 gets dispatched to a collapsed building they meet a few officers of the Midwilshire Devision but Buck gets trapped with one of their officers which causes Eddie to worry about him.

Summary
"Buck," Eddie repeats slowly, "I need you to breathe for me."
"I have a daughter," Buck says, hands shaking. "I — I have to go to Hershey and —"
"Okay," Eddie tells him, so calm when Buck is losing it. "Hey, look at me. It's going to be fine. I'll call Chim."
"I'll get your plane tickets," Christopher decides, already up on his feet, ready to go to his room.
Or fourteen years ago, Buck had a daughter with his ex-girlfriend. After she passes away, he learns about her existence, and learns to deal with what being a teenager's father means. Luckily for him, he can count on his 118 family.

Summary
Eddie knows this part: his head lulls back into the concrete and his arms twitch, keeping a panicked Buck in his sights as the blood pools underneath him.
Their first team up after he moved to the paramedic role comes when a building collapses in downtown Los Angeles. He and Buck are to search for survivors. The rubble is unstable.

Summary
They should all be dealing with things. Talking about their grief and wanting to move forward.
They obviously don’t do any of that.
Chris stays stuck on the events that caused him to move.
Eddie doesn’t know who he is.
Buck can’t stop falling apart.
Or what if this was a storyline after Bobby died. Everyone trying their best to heal, just hoping it happens without trying.

Summary
“You know, when I saw you moving in, I thought you were going to another alpha cutting in on my territory. I mean,” he gestures a hand over Buck’s form, “look at you. God, imagine how happy I was when I realised what you really were.” Buck whines, long and high pitched, and the alpha just laughs. “Been waiting for you to go into heat.”

Summary
Just as Eddie reached the end of this train of thought, the spinach started sizzling in the pan, and for a strange moment, he felt like his head was floating on his shoulders. There was a rush in his ears, a dissociative ache behind his eyes, and suddenly he thought he might puke. Then the headache hit again, like someone had put his brain in a juicer and squeezed.
Eight years as a firefighter kicked his muscles into gear, turning off the stove and yanking the back door open before his brain fully caught up, catching himself against the doorframe as he took deep deliberate breaths of fresh air.

Summary
“Hey, Eddie.”
“No,” Eddie whispered, shaking his head. “No, you’re not real. You died. I know because I was the one carrying your coffin out of the church.”
“Eddie,” Bobby said softly. “I’m not mad at you. I’m not mad you weren’t in the lab that day–”
“You should be.” Eddie’s voice came out sharp, ragged. “You should be furious. Because I didn’t save you.”

Summary
“What the fuck, Buck. Look at us! We don’t do this, man. You can’t just up and leave after things get hard!” Eddie wasn’t sure how to stop being angry, how to not put everything on Buck, but his best friend leaving sure wasn’t helping.
“Oh, but you can?” Buck snarled and Eddie looked at him in disbelief.
“You…No. We’ve been over this. I know that you don’t think that I…” Eddie was lost for words but Buck quickly started speaking instead.
“That you what, Eddie? That you didn’t leave? That you haven’t changed? That we haven’t changed? Because we sure as hell did. And El Paso wasn’t the first time you did it. It is your fucking thing."
Or
In the midst of their grief, Buck and Eddie fell out of their usual rhythm and went into two completely different directions. After a fight that took way too much from both of them and after the news that Eddie and Chris were staying in LA, Buck decided to move out and leave this thing between him and Eddie behind.
Or
Buck and Eddie have another divorce era right after the events of s8e17. We ignore everything that happened after that episode. Chris is a sweetheart, Maddie Buckley-Han is amazing and Tommy is only here as a plot device.

Summary
That truth should have been comforting when Eddie proposed, but it was a weak reminder of everything he lost out on.
So, Buck recalibrated, the way he always did.
Maddie would take on the traditions - she’d dance, give a speech that would make everyone laugh and then cry in the way only she could. And she would stand with him as his best man.
Hen would handle the decorations, turning Buck’s chaotic ideas into something beautiful and intentional.
Chimney would be the mastermind behind the curtains, keeping the whole machine running with the frantic but brilliant energy only he had.
And Bobby…. Bobby would make sure the food was perfect, the timing precise, the day steady and safe. He would know exactly what Buck or Eddie needed before either of them managed to utter a single word.
But Bobby wasn’t here anymore.
And Buck hadn’t understood, not really, how sharp that absence would feel until he was standing alone in a quiet suite on his wedding day.

AKA: Buck is getting married and realizes how hard it is that Bobby isn't there to tie his tie, and proceeds to have a small breakdown about it.Luckily, Maddie is always there.

Summary
Maybe he hadn't been grieving in the healthiest of ways, Buck was smart enough to gather as much. That didn't mean he was ready to acknowledge any of it.
That was why his own words had taken a right hook to his chin, completely uprooting him from his spot.
"I think you're so afraid of losing one more thing that you've decided you'd rather just walk away, but I promise you giving it up is not gonna hurt any less than having them take it away."
Buck hadn't realised how true those words had been until he'd spoken them.

Summary
‘Yes,’ she said and something in Eddie broke at that. Or maybe, it slotted together, like puzzle pieces. ‘I think your name would be Edmundo.’
‘But- Abuelo?’
‘I think you’d carry on his name well,’ she said, cupping his cheek, pushing the short strands of Eddie’s hair out of his face. ‘It means defender.’
‘Defender?’
‘Ah, you protect people- look after them, take care of them.’
Eddie felt his chest constrict, the breaths he sucked in short and shaking.
‘Sweetheart,’ Abuela said, her warm hand on Eddie’s cheek, pushing away the tears falling down his face. ‘Do you want to be Edmundo?’
Eddie stared up at her, the name settling around him like a well-worn, well-loved blanket.
‘Yes,’ he whispered, watching the smile stretch over his abuela’s face.
‘Then you will,’ she said, kissing his forehead.-----
