“We have a problem,” Tim whispered.
“And it’s another Tuesday, what’s your point,” Jason asked, not looking up from his book.
“My point,” Tim whisper-hissed, “Is that you need to come with me right now.”
“But I’m in the middle of this,” Jason lifted the abridged copy of The Iliad toward Tim’s face. “Can’t it wait until we get home?”
“No,” Tim tugged on Jason’s elbow. At least Tim learned not to touch the book. “I need help.”
“So you have a problem,” Jason teased, but he put down the book. If the little mafia boss was asking for help, then it must be important.
The problem, as it turned out to be, was a rogue attack at school.

Summary
It wasn’t that Tommy needed Technoblade to like him, no. But he really did see his human crewmate as a friend, preferably as a brother, but it's hard for him to tell whether Techno cares about him sometimes. The two of them end up going on a parts run together, but they end up caught in a severe snowstorm, which crashes the ship.
That wouldn't be too bad, except for Tommy is a reptilian alien, so being cold-blooded in a snowstorm is his worst nightmare. Prior experience with other crews has told Tommy that he can't expect anyone else to try and save him, not when it puts their own life at risk, but Techno may just surprise him.

Tommy doesn’t know what the others see when they look at him.
Maybe, at first, all they see is his exhaustion that clings to him like a second skin; something that he hasn’t truly been able to shake since waking from Daroda’s destruction, clawing back his mind from a sleep so deep it had taken him several hours to truly wake. Maybe they barely see the solder burns that mark up his arms, the deep shadows beneath his eyes, the harsh glare that’s permanently fixed itself to his face as he throws himself over and over at the problem that stands in front of him. If it was an enemy, he’d have no problem beating his fists into it until it was either dead or destroyed, never mind the destruction he’d bring upon himself.
But the obstacle that stands in front of him is not something that simply needs breaking-killing-destroying.Or: War cannot be outrun, only delayed.

Techno was starting to forget what the real world looked like. Here in the world that mattered there were many seasons at once, the person standing next to him had a hand that ended in living wood, and portals opened to let people step through them instead of doing anything as unseemly as walking down hallways. He did what it took to stay alive. He didn’t know how long it had been.
Techno tried to get his breath back, blood with that fae iridescence running down the blade of his silver sword.
The king smiled at him, a warm expression under eyes that never stopped calculating. He was wearing Techno’s father’s face again, which he seemed to like doing. “Well done,” the person who looked like Phil said, placing a hand on the side of Techno’s face. He tipped it upwards, forcing Techno to look at him. Techno could feel cold rings and the prick of claws against his skin, claws like it seemed most people had here. When Techno had woken up in the tithes’ bower this morning, his nails had come to a point. “You’re becoming a valued member of the court, like I knew you would,” the king told him. “You fit in so well.”
OR: Techno has been taken by the Forest King, and his dad comes for him.
