There was a cozy blanket draped over the majority of the couch. In the middle sat a twenty-four pack of Chaos Cola, a plate of chili dogs stacked to the moon, five pizza boxes, thirteen family-size bags of chips, and two bowls of popcorn – one dressed with chili and one plain. And, of course, a tin of mint candy just waiting to be eaten – because nothing is complete without mints, right?
It was the perfect setup for a movie marathon of Chao in Space.
Sonic chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. “Wow, uh…”
I frowned. “What’s wrong? Is there something missing?” Did I get the wrong flavor of pizza again? I thought he liked cheese!
“Look, Tails, I really appreciate it, but maybe some other time?”
“What? But you’ve been suggesting we do this for weeks! What else could you possibly–”
“Sorry, gotta run! I’m meeting up with Shadow!”
And just like that, he was gone – leaving me standing there all by myself, hand brought up to shield myself from the rush of wind that Sonic left in his wake.
Shadow?
Just what was that all about?

Okay, so it’s no secret that Sonic is awesome. If you were to make a list of the top three most awesome people in existence, Sonic would definitely be there. Right under Keanu Reeves of course, so at least number two. That fact is something that Sonic has worn proudly for most of his life on Earth. Sonic the Hedgehog — fastest thing alive, Donut Lord’s favorite space creature, and second coolest being on the planet!
But this guy? He absolutely takes that last part of Sonic’s totally legitimate title. Anyone who sounds like Keanu Reeves is instantly awesome in his books.
